Privacy policy
What the masquerini.gr website collects, why, for how long, and what your rights are. In short: we keep only what you write in a form, for that form’s purpose, for two years.

Who is responsible
- Data controller
- Municipality of Katerini, which organises MASQUERINI.
- Data processor
- IHB Creative Solutions, to which the Municipality has contracted the organisation of the events. IHB holds and manages form data on behalf of the Municipality and does not use it for any purpose of its own.
What we collect and why
Only what you write in one of the website’s forms. We do not ask for sensitive data, and we do not use your details for advertising, sell them or pass them to third parties.
Passarella entry form
Purpose: to organise the group’s place in the parade and to contact the person in charge.
Details: group name and type, number of people, costume theme, float, contact person’s name, phone, email, notes.
Performance or Street Party proposal
Purpose: to assess the proposal and to contact you.
Details: name and type of group, description of the proposal, number of people, duration, technical needs, contact person’s name, phone, email.
Volunteer application
Purpose: for your voluntary participation. The details are held in the records of the Deputy Mayor’s Office for Culture and Tourism. For volunteers under 18 we ask for a guardian’s consent.
Details: full name, age, phone, email, availability, motivation, previous experience.
Contact form
Purpose: to reply to your message.
Details: full name, email, phone (optional), organisation (optional), subject, message.
Legal basis
Your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation, EU 2016/679), which you give by ticking the relevant box before sending the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
How long we keep them
Two years
Details from entry forms are kept for two years after the event and then deleted. Messages sent through the contact form are also kept for two years.
Who has access
The Municipality of Katerini and IHB Creative Solutions, and only the people who need them to organise the events.
The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., which receives the form submissions. To organise participation, form details are also stored in Google spreadsheets (Google Sheets), which only the people named above can access. Netlify and Google may transfer data to the USA; transfers take place under the safeguards the GDPR requires for transfers outside the European Union.
Cookies and statistics
- We use no tracking or advertising cookies and we collect no visitor statistics.
- Fonts and photos load from our own server, not from third parties. The 2025 after movie loads from ihbs.gr only when you press play.
- The website’s videos load from the bunny.net content delivery network (BunnyWay d.o.o., Slovenia, EU), which, like any server, logs technical data such as IP addresses.
- YouTube after movies load only when you press play, from youtube-nocookie.com. From then on, Google’s privacy policy applies.
- Like any server, the hosting provider logs technical data (such as IP addresses) for security and to keep the service running.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access
- find out which of your details we hold.
- Rectification
- correct anything wrong or incomplete.
- Erasure
- ask for your details to be deleted.
- Restriction
- ask for processing to be paused.
- Portability
- receive your details in a file.
- Objection
- object to the processing.
- Withdrawal of consent
- at any time, without affecting anything lawfully done before.

If you believe your data is not properly protected, you can lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, www.dpa.gr.
Security and changes
Connections to the website and form submissions are encrypted (HTTPS). If anything in this policy changes, you will see it here, with a new “last updated” date.
